Distance Awards

The Distance Award is valid for Volkssport Walking.

It is awarded in increments of 500, 1,000, 1,500, etc. up to 10,000 kilometers. Further  increments are handled differently in the national IVV member associations.

The scoring is continuous and unlimited in time. The participant is free to complete 10, 100 or 1000 km per year.

The Distance Award is implemented through record books which can be obtained from the national IVV member associations.

After fulfilling the specified Volkssport requirements, the participant submits the record book to the national member association of his place of residence. The national member association certifies the achievements (km). Further awards, e.g. pin, badges, are available.

The award is valid internationally. Events and walking trails of all national member associations and individual member clubs in more than 40 countries are recognized.

The prerequisite is that the organizer must be a member of the International Federation of Popular Sports or of a national member association and that the event or walking trail has been approved for the IVV award.

Several national member associations conduct  distance awards in other Volkssport types, e.g. cycling. These are separate awards, i.e. cycling distances are not recognized for walking distances.
